DAVIS — The Davis Public Library will have its Teen Book Club from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday.

This week, "The Outsiders," by S.E. Hinton, award winning Oklahoma author, will be discussed and teens will have the opportunity to watch the movie.

The coming-of-age novel was first published in 1967 and Hinton was only 15 years old when he first started the book.

The story follows two rival groups, the "greasers" and the "socs," who are divided by their socioeconomic status.

The program, recommended for ages 11-18, is free and open to the public. Refreshments will also be served.

To check out a book or register for the event, call Branch Manager Shannon Bever at (580) 369-2468 or at (888) 520-8095. The Davis Public Library is located at 209 E. Benton St.

The Davis Public Library is a branch of the Chickasaw Regional (Public) Library System.
