  • PASADENA, Texas — Jerald Michael Ellis, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away suddenly and peacefully at Clear Lake Regional Hospital on December 14, 2012. He was born on January 16, 1943, in Frederick, Oklahoma.
    Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald (Jerry) and Katherine Ellis.
    He is survived by his wife, Wanda Ellis; sons, Steven Ellis (wife, Alison) and Scott Ellis, all of Houston; brother, Phil Ellis of Frederick, Oklahoma; sister, Pam Mithchell of Davidson, Oklahoma, as well as, his grandchildren, Stetson, Saegen, Kendyll and Quinton, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
    He graduated in 1965 from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Upon graduation, he attended Tulsa University Law School, after which being drafted into the United States Army where he served with the 9th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War.
    Mike married Wanda on February 12, 1965, after meeting at Oklahoma State University, where they were united in marriage in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and remained together for 47 years.
    After becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 1971, he opened his own practice and for 37 years served numerous clients from all parts of the country. Mike then retired in 2008 and moved to Houston, Texas.
    Mike's funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 19th with a visitation one-hour prior to the service, all to be at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena.
    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project.
