  • Memorial services for Brenda Kay Campbell, 64, of Over­brook, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, in the Marsden Baptist Church, Marsden Community. Officiating will be Pastor Ronnie Carroll.

    Born December 15, 1948, in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Bert and Ruth McBride Foster, Mrs. Campbell passed away Tuesday, December 18, in Mercy Hospital Ar­dmore, Ardmore, Okla.

    A resident of Love County since 1972, Mrs. Campbell had previously made her home in Texas. She and Bobby D. Camp­bell were married in Ard­more in November 1995.

    Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and an all­ around cowgirl. A barrel racer in the 1960s, she won the Southwest Texas Championship in 1965, rode in the Cotton Bowl Parade that year, and has been featured in the Stan­ford, Texas Museum and the Moscow, ID Cowgirl Museum. In 2005, Mrs. Campbell was inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Texas. She has participated in all rodeo events, even bull riding. Brenda also liked to shoot guns, especially hunting squirrels. She also loved animals, owning a variety of animals including dogs, cats, goats, pigs, horses and cows. Brenda will be remembered as someone who never met a strang­er.

    She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Rex Foster.

    Survivors include her husband, Bobby of the home; mother, Ruth Thornton of Abilene; daughter and son-in-law, Tamyra and Brent Mef­ford of Edmond, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law, Toby and Erin Owen of Fort Worth, Texas; two stepchildren, Robin and Kennith Stewart of Mes­quite, Texas, and Rocky and Jennifer Campbell of Marietta, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Macken­zie, Madison, Mallorie, Mason, Margo, Natalie, James and Andrew; and four step grandchildren, Alex, Casey, Chelsie and Grace.

    Honorary bearers are Barbara Hunt, Brenda Graham, Sonny Banks, Christine Banks, Tammy Graham, Michael Camp­bell, Andrea Campbell, Barbara Campbell and Charles Campbell.

    The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ardmore Animal Shelter.

    Arrangements are un­der the direction of Flana­gan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
