Robert Ferrell Wagoner was born on Monday, February 10, 1936, in Enos, Oklahoma, to William B. and Omia Gray Wagoner and passed from this life on Sunday, December 23, 2012, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 13 days.
Robert has been a lifelong resident of Marshall and Johnston Counties. He married Jean Aderholtz on October 2, 1954, in Madill and he owned operated his paint and body shop. He retired as Fire Chief of the Mannsville Fire Department and was a member of the Oklahoma Firefighters Association. He was of the Baptist faith. He truly loved to go fishing.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Omia Wagoner; son, Dennis Wagoner; and baby brother.
Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 plus years, Jean Wagoner of the home; son, Will Wagoner and wife, Terri of Madill, Okla.; brothers, James Wagoner and wife, Bunny of Madill, Okla., George Wagoner and wife, Bobbie of Madill, Okla., Charlie Wagoner of Clinton, Okla.; sisters, Edith Mays of Mannsville, Okla., Sue Sprouse of Madill, Okla., Ella Sprouse of Madill, Okla., and Mary Easley and husband, Jessie of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Misty Merritt and husband, Mike, Christie Mathis and husband, Mike, Dennis Wagoner and wife, Ashley, Laura Bishop and Jennifer Wagoner; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Colton Wagoner, Jared , Dylan, Conner and Kenzie Mathis, Izebella Bishop, Dane, Joshlyn, Kynlee and Tesla Wagoner; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Mannsville Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Mannsville Cemetery with members of the Mannsville Fire Department serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Edwards, Ronny Colbert and James Woody.
