Jackie Collins, age 86, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012, in Ardmore, Okla. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Reverend Ed Harwood officiating. Services will conclude in the chapel.
Jackie was born on May 22, 1926, to Joseph D. Collins and Ottie Frances (Towry) Collins in Maysville, Okla. He married Miss Edith V. Black on August 31, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Linda and Brenda; siblings, Mathey Lee Collins; and sisters, Geneva Harris, Lillian Davis, Dyphine Cate, and Hazel Penny; brothers-in-law, Reaford Harris, Don Balch, and Duby Todd.
Jackie served in the U.S. Navy. He was of the Methodist faith and he enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Collins; daughters, Carolyn Lewis and husband, Darrell, and Phyllis Harwood and husband, Ed; grandson, Darrell "Larry" Lewis and wife, Andrea; granddaughters; Edith Lewis Wittenburg and Angel Mitchell and husband, Dana; great-granddaughter, Alexandra Wittenburg; brothers, Joe D. Collins and wife, Jane, Bobby G. Collins and wife, Mary; sisters, Nell Balch, Lucy Todd, and Stella "Sue" Fincher and husband, Weldon; brothers-in-law, Joe Davis, Wayland Penny, and Warren Cate; and sister-in-law Jessie Lee Collins.
Family visitation will be held at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday evening, December 27, 2012.
