KINGSTON —A single vehicle crash on a county road Monday afternoon claimed the life of a Sherman, Texas woman.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Alicia Sjahadi, 22, was pronounced dead-at-the-scene of the 4:35 p.m. accident southwest of Kingston.
Sjahadi was a passenger in a 2001 Ford Expedition, driven by Aaron Adams, 25, Ore City, Texas. Adams was taken by ambulance to Integris Medical Center in Madill where he was treated and later released. Dustin Adams, 23, Geneva, Fla., also identified as a passenger, was air lifted to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas. He was treated and released.
Patrol reports indicate Adams was eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle ran off the the right side of the road. Adams overcorrected, sending the SUV across the road to the left where it rolled twice before re-entering the road a second time coming to rest in a ditch on the right side of the road.
Sjahadi, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected during the crash. Both men were buckled up.
Cause of the crash was listed as unsafe speed.
