E.F. (Ed) Brummett passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at his home in Fox, Okla. He was born March 10, 1927, in Crab Orchard, Ky., to Fred and Maggie (Baldwin) Brummett.
Ed lived in Kentucky and Ohio before enlisting in the Army, at a young age, serving in WWII. After serving in the Philippines, he returned to Frankfort, Ky., to marry Nellie Leece on December 5, 1946.
Ed and his young family moved to California where he worked for many years as a paint and drywall contractor. He and Nellie also owned and operated 3B’s Feed and Supply in Valinda, Calif. They retired and moved to Fox in 1981.
Known for his outgoing personality, Ed never seemed to meet a stranger. He had a passion for restoring antique cars and was proud of the horses he and his family had raised over the years. He loved his cats and dogs.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maggie Brummett; sisters, Emma Armstrong and Janet Brummett; and an infant son, Donald Brummett.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Nellie; four daughters, Linda Brummett, Helen Stone, Patty Brummett and Betty Ann Sullivan and her husband, Timothy; and six grandchildren, Dawn Nicotri, Denise Chesney-Isaacs, Rick Chesney II, Justin Sullivan, Amanda Sullivan and Jamie Stone. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Ed was a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed by his family.
Daddy, I will always love you “so much it hurts” too and pennies will always be “baby money”. Your passing has left a hole in my heart.
