Our precious angel, with fiery red hair and sparkling blue eyes, Marian Rene’ Headley born July 18, 1962, at Long Beach, Calif., passed from this life on Sunday, December 23, 2012, in Duncan, Okla., surrounded by her loving parents, brother, sister-in-law and nephew.
She attended grade schools in Mesquite, Texas, Mark Twain, Duncan and Marlow, Okla. She graduated in 1980 from Healdton High School having been in special education all of her school years. She moved to Duncan in 1982 to a group home environment, where she lived until she and Harrel Lee were married. She and Harrel Lee were married on June 15, 1984, and were divorced in 1999. In 1986, she lost the only child to that union. Rene’ went to work at the Power Shop in Duncan in 1982, and worked for several years until the opportunity to work at Halliburton Services Plant was provided to her through the Power Shop. Also, she worked at Long John Silvers for four years, after which she became a homemaker.
She was a very loving daughter and person. Rene’ was a true and genuine spirit who loved her family and friends with all of her heart, but her love for the Lord was the most important thing in her life. She was a joy to be around and always had a good report even in the midst of her suffering. Everyone was important to her. She especially loved going to her brother’s football games that he coached and was the proudest of all aunts to see her nephew play for the last eight years. She also loved her dogs and treated all with the love of a “Mommy”. She loved to go places and see the sights. Through Hospice she was able to take her “Dream Trip” as well as her last and final trip to Dollywood in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She did not accept “changing your mind” very well. If you said you were going to do one thing, you were not to change your mind. We should all learn a lesson from this sweet angel on loan from the Lord.
She loved to do craft work, word puzzles and was a very avid reader.
She is survived by her parents, Glenn R. and M. Cheree’ Headley of Duncan, Okla.; one brother, Glenn Ray Headley II and wife, Laura F. Headley; one nephew, Matthew Ray, all of Hastings, Okla.; and one niece, Melissa McHugh of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She is also survived by two uncles, the Rev. F. Ray Ledbetter and wife, Dianna D., and the Rev. Clyde J. Headley and wife, Javan, all from Duncan; a host of cousins and friends who loved her dearly; and her special friend, Marsha Pagent.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, the Rev. Curtis F. Ledbetter, Daisy D. Ledbetter, Jesse C. Headley and Pearl Eva Headley; and an uncle, Ocie H. Headley and wife, Madeline Headley.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. January 3, 2013, at Gospel Beams Church, 814 N. E St., Duncan, Okla. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
