Chesley Turner, 83, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, in Bray.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Keith Nease officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Chesley was born Saturday, November 23, 1929, in Doyle, Oklahoma, to H.L. Turner Sr. and Della (Gann) Turner. He grew up in the Doyle Community and attended Burris High grade school. In 1950, Chesley married Eula Mae Jenkins in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had two sons, Wayne and Ted. Chesley worked for Phillips Gas Company for many years prior to retiring. He lived in Wilson for 25 years before returning to the Marlow area in 2010. Chesley was an avid rancher and farmer. He loved taking care of his cattle. Chesley enjoyed spending time with his family and taking trips with them. He also enjoyed watching the kids play basketball. Chesley was a member of the Moose Lodge in Duncan and Ardmore for several years and Pearl Assembly of God Church in Doyle.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Turner and wife, Allison and Ted Turner and wife, Connie, all of Bray; 10 grandchildren, Brad Turner and wife, Tiffany of Comanche, Colby Turner and wife, Julie of Marlow, Bridget Smith and husband, Quincy of Marlow, Krystal Edgmon and husband, Jeff of Walters, Chuck Turner and wife, Jennifer of Bray, Jeff Cox of Marlow, T.J. Cox of Marlow, Michael Cox and wife, Sarah of Marlow, Kali Hinkel of Hollywood, California, and Jenni Blackburn and husband, Bradon of Duncan; 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Turner of Yukon.
Chesley was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Turner.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Graham, Newt Boydston and Lynn Wilcher.
