Funeral services for Thomas (Tommy) Harold Pearson were at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. Dr. Alton Fannin officiated. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Tommy was born May 3, 1928, at Brownwood, Texas, to Harry B. Pearson and Gladys Partin Pearson. He departed this life on Jan. 10, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
He had been a resident of Ardmore since 1943 moving here from Wichita Falls, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Sandoval during the Korean War.
He was married to the former Lodine Herr in Ardmore on Nov. 17, 1956. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2000. He retired as a switchman from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. He had served as secretary and treasurer for the Communication Workers of America. Following his retirement, he and Lodine owned and operated the Pearson Estate Liquidation Business for 25 years. They also enjoyed RVing in their Air Stream Trailer with the Air Stream Club.
Tommy was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He was also active as a Gideon.
Survivors include three sons, Scott Pearson and wife, Diana, Tulsa, Mark Pearson, Forney, Texas, and Paul Pearson and wife, Kara, Ardmore; a brother, Don Pearson and wife, Jean; six grandchildren, Amanda and Kristin Pearson, Cassidy Rodriguez, Shayna Pearson, Evan Pearson and wife, Payton and Ryan Pearson; and two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Zane Rodriguez.
