  • DIXIE — Graveside services for Ima Lou Bradford 84 of Ringling will be 2 p.m. Monday January 14, 2013, at Dixie Cemetery. Ima was born in Ringling, to John Henry and Eva Cunningham Abshire on February 21, 1928. She went to be with her Lord and Savior January 10, 2013, in Healdton.
Ima was raised in the Ringling area attending school at Center Point. She married Charlie on March 1, 1946, in Ringling making their home there where they raised their five children. Ima lost the love of her life, Charlie on September 8, 1979, and after that her life changed. She went to work as a health care provider and worked for 17 years for the Department of Human Services, then for Olsten Health Care, retiring in 2000. She was extremely proud of her job and loved working with and caring for many people.
Ima always kept her interests up by serving God, and her hobbies of collecting rocks and sea shells. She collected shells and artifacts from different states. She loved displaying her collectables in her yard, she especially loved people stopping by to enjoy looking at them. As much as she loved her family, hobbies and collecting various things, the greatest joy of her life was praising her Lord for all the many blessings. Ima was a member of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church since 1962. She was saved on June 17, 1962, and baptized on July 8, 1962. Ima will be missed greatly.
