  • Charles Murrell Daniel, age 74, of Ardmore, Okla., passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013, in Ardmore.  
    Services were held on Saturday, January 19, 2013, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla., with Pastor Don Waters officiating. Interment followed in McAlister Cemetery, near Overbrook, Oklahoma.
    Charles was born on November 29, 1938, in Brock, Okla., to Charles Issac and Lillie Mae (Jones) Daniel.
    He married Laverne Lowrey on September 13, 1958, in Ardmore, Okla.
    Charles worked in the Water Department for the City of Ardmore and, later, for Jefferson County Rural Water District until his retirement. Charles enjoyed shooting guns, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, OU Sooner fan and NASCAR fan, especially following Dale Earnhardt, Sr.  
    Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jewel McCullough and Ester Mae Robinson, Leta Faye Reeve, and Charlene Daniel.
    He is survived by his wife, Laverne, of the home; daughter, Valerie Coquese Daniel, of Ringling, Okla.; son, Jimmie Dewayne Daniel and wife, Keyla, of Ardmore; brother, Leo Daniel, of Longview, Texas; and sister, Wanda McConnell, of Fort Worth, Texas. He is also survived by his cat, BB.
