Penny Cline, born Hester Pearl Stiner on September 21, 1934, in Kendrick, Oklahoma, passed from this life on January 17, 2013, in her home in Ardmore, surrounded by family, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Joe Stiner of Oklahoma City, and an infant sister.
She is survived by her husband Bob, who she met at church in Oklahoma City over 60 years ago.  They were married in Hawaii, where Bob was stationed in the Navy. She is also survived by her children, Bobby Cline, Lanita Parker, Terry Cline; granddaughters, Michelle Stevenson (from which time she was known as Me-Maw), and Lisa and husband, Aaron Batson; and great-grandkids, Tyler Cox, Jaxon Potter, Sydney Batson, Kyle Stevenson and Scott Batson; siblings Mickey Pierce, Geneva VanGundy, Joe Stiner, and  RuDell Adkison.
Through most of her adult life, Me-Maw enjoyed bowling, square dancing, bingo, and racquetball.  Throughout her early career, Penny worked in hospital settings as a secretary. While working at Memorial Hospital for Dr. Mike Brown in radiology services, she graduated from nursing school in 1982, the same year her son, Bobby graduated from OSU. Penny loved her work family at Day Surgery where she retired after two decades.
Me-Maw has been our rock and our foundation, an excellent role model for all of us, and we love her and will miss her terribly. The family would like to thank all of the family and friends who have been supportive throughout Me-Maw’s illness, with a special thanks to the incredibly supportive, loving and professional staff at Victory Home Health and Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Centennial Chapel, 2118 S. Commerce St., Ardmore, Oklahoma, on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at 2 p.m.
