  • Winter art class enrollment now open

  • Winter art class enrollment is now open at the Goddard Center. Classes are available in a variety of artistic disciplines for both children and adults.

    Drawing and Painting for ages 5-8 is taught by Julia Castanos on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 24. This four week class is $55.

    Drawing and Painting for ages 9-14 is taught by Beverly Montgomery on Tuesdays from 4-5:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday. This six week class is $85.

    Hand Building Pottery for ages 5-8 is taught by Steven Phillips on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday. This four week class is $55.

    Wheel Throwing Pottery for ages 9-14 i s taught by Steven Phillips on Thursdays from 4-5:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 24. This six week class is $100.

    Sculptural Pottery for ages 9-14 is taught by Annette Sinesio on Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. be­ginning  Wednesday. This six week class is $100.

    Digital Photography for ages 9-14 is taught by Don Alquist on Mondays from 4-5:30 p.m. begin­ning Monday. This four week class is $60. Students will need to bring their own digital camera.

    Mosaic Masterpieces for ages 9-14 is taught by Tina Vercelli on Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. beginning Jan. 24. This four week class is $60.

    Youth Saturday workshops include Oil Pastels for ages 9-14 on March 2, Manga/Anime drawing for Beginners ages 12-17 on Jan. 26 and Manga/Anime drawing for Intermediates ages 12-17 on Feb. 2. The cost for each workshop is $35 and each workshop is held from 1-4 p.m.

    Still Life Drawing for adults is taught by Keith Murray on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning Monday. This six week class is $85.

    Watercolor Painting for adults is taught by Paul Walsh on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday. This six week class is $85.

    Daytime Oil Painting for adults is taught by Beverly Montgomery on Thursdays from 1-3:30 p.m. beginning on Jan. 24. This six week class is $85.

    Pottery for adults is taught by Steven Phillips on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday or Jan. The cost for either six week class is $125.

    Two adult workshops are also available. Figure Drawing with a Live Model is taught by Beverly Montgomery on Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $60. Granite Sculpting is taught by National Medal of Arts recipient Jesús Moroles. This four day intensive workshop is March 16-19 and costs $500, which does not include the granite. Granite of variable sizes will be available on site for a fee, starting at $50.

    Space is limited in these classes. To register or ask questions, call the Goddard Center Art Studios at (580)490-6556. Information is also available online at www.goddardcenter.org. A limited num­ber of scholarships are available and students are encouraged to apply.

    Scholarship forms are available at the Goddard Center or can be downloaded from the website. The Art Studios facility is located at 425 First Ave. S W.
