An Ardmore woman was arrested by narcotics officers late Tuesday when evidence indicated she was selling marijuana from her downtown Main Street apartment.

Capt. Gregg Johnson, Carter County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Division, said a joint investigation conducted with Ardmore Police Department Narcotics Division, resulted in Jessie Lyn Parker's arrest.

"Both departments had received independent information she had been selling marijuana from her upstairs apartment for about three months," Johnson said. "An investigation was conducted based on that information."

Reports indicate officers went to the 21-year-old woman's apartment, located in the 100 block of East Main Street, Tuesday afternoon.

"Ms. Parker was at home and we made contact with her when we arrived," Johnson said.

A subsequent search of the apartment yielded marijuana, scales, drug paraphernalia and what was described as "evidence of distribution." Parker was arrested without incident and booked into the Carter County Detention Center pending formal charges.

Wednesday the district attorney's office filed a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute against her in district court. Parker made an initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon. A bond of $15,000 was set on the charge.

A spokesperson for the detention center said late Wednesday Parker was released after posting bond.
