  • Services for Irvin Leroy "Irv" Johnson, 79, will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 25 in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Brother Mike Caraway officiating. Viewing and a time of visitation and support for the family will be at 1 Friday afternoon at the funeral home.
    The son of the late Webster and Willetta Mabel Putt Johnson, Irv was born May 28, 1933, in Mahoning, Ohio, and passed away January 19 in Ardmore.
    Irv served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1959 and received an honorable discharge. He worked for many years in California as a plumber for Plumbing and Piping Joint and was a member of the Plumbers Union.
    After retiring, he moved to Oklahoma in 1995. He married Nadine Hawkins on April 1, 2002, in Gainesville, and they made their home in Wilson. Irv enjoyed the outdoors, crafts and cooking.
    He is survived by his wife, Nadine of the home; sons, Mike, Bob and John Johnson all of Oregon, Dan Johnson of California, Earl and Dwayne Vaughn both of California; daughters, Linda Nelson and Sherry Jackson of California, and Theresa Shreck of Lone Grove, Okla.; brothers, Gilbert and Lynn of Ohio, and Dan of Arkansas; sister, Patsy Johnson of Nevada; 24 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
