  • Dorothy Jean Holley, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at her home in Ardmore. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in the Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with private interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla.
    Dorothy was born on December 28, 1939, in Ardmore, Okla., to Cleo Earnest Holley and Dorothy Edyth (Holland) Holley. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James Loren Holley; maternal grandparents, Gertrude and Olin Henry Holland; and paternal grandparents, Zelma and Earnest Holley.
    Dorothy and Edward H. Ogle were married on September 25, 1967, in Oklahoma City, Okla., and they were married for 16 years.
    Dorothy graduated from Ardmore High School in 1958 and from Saint Anthony's Hospital School of Nursing in Oklahoma City in 1962. Dorothy lived in California from 1967 until 1989, at which time she moved back to Ardmore where she resided until her death. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in the Healthcare field for 25 years. While in California, she completed three lay hospital Chaplaincy Programs; West Valley Chaplaincy Ministry, Los Gatos, Calif., August 22, 1986, Chaplains for Christ, San Jose, Calif., August 12, 1988, and Stanford University Hospital Chaplaincy Program, Palo Alto, Calif., September 1988. She completed her internship and worked as a volunteer Lay Chaplain from 1986 through 1989, while in California. She completed a basic preparation course for Parish Nursing, June 10-16, 2006, in Guthrie, Okla. Dorothy also volunteered as a Foster Grandparent for Will Rogers School. She was a Christian who enjoyed writing poetry and flower gardening.
    Dorothy is survived by her brother, Lynne Howard Holley and his wife, Mary Helen, of Barnet, Vermont and their two daughters, Elizabeth Walker and husband, Doug, and their sons, Samuel and Gabriel Walker, of Middlebury, Conn., and Susan Holley and husband, Tim Wehner and their son, Nikolai Wehner of Charlottesville, Va. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Deanna Delaplain of Ardmore, Okla. and many beloved family members and friends.
    There will be a visitation held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
    Serving as pallbearers will be John Henry Phillips, Jr., Michael Jay Caldwell, James D. Echer, Richard G. Conley, Timothy Charles Smith and Trinity Don Hills. Honorary bearers will be Greg Holley, Austin Pumphrey and Dakota Pumphrey.
