Roy Allen Jones

Roy Allen Jones was born Septem­ber 26, 1935, to John Paul and Bertie Faye (Roberts) Jones at Boone, Okla. He passed away January 26th in Lawton, Okla., at the age of 77.

He married Barbara Ann Alvey on July 15, 1954, in Lawton, Okla. She preceded him in death on October 15, 2000. They moved to Ardmore in 1964 and Roy went to work for Dolese Brothers in 1967 at Ardmore as a hand shov­eler. He worked his way up to managing a plant then retired as a supervisor at the Davis plant in 1997.

He was a member of the Apache Masonic Lodge and the Ardmore Order of the Oddfellows. He en­joyed fishing and doing carpentry. He was also an OU and Dallas Cowboys football fan.

He is survived by: one son, Rusty A. Jones, Cache, Okla.; two grand­daughters, Katherine Jones and Jamie and husband, Mike Shannon; three great-grandchildren, Braxton Shannon, Jack­son Shannon and Grayson Shannon; and two sisters, Marjorie Watters, Lawton, Okla., and Norma Lee Wi­erzbowski, California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jones; and one daughter, Rhonda Ray “Ronnie” Lee.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 30th at Fairview Cemetery in Apache, Okla., with the Rev. Bud Jones officiating. Burial will follow under the di­rection of Crews Funeral Home.
