WILSON — Funeral services for Mrs. Willo Mae (Hampton) Baker, 86, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with the Rev. Alex Costea officiating. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery of Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Willo was born November 11, 1926, at Hastings, Mich., to the late Mr. Garner C. Hampton and Mable D. (Armour) Hampton. She died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Sanger, Texas.
Willo was raised at Hastings, Michigan, and married Mr. Andrew "Andy" M. Baker on April 7, 1946, at Hasting. She was a stay-at-home mother raising her four children and gave piano lessons from her home. She later served as an Administrative Assistant to the High School Principal at Bishop Lynch Public School in Dallas. She retired from there in 1993. In her retirement, she enjoyed doing oil paintings and reading. Willo was of the Methodist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Andrew – February 18, 2009; son, Mark Baker; and sister, Dawn Hampton.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Moore and husband, Jimmy of Sanger, Texas, and Cynthia Baker, Hillsboro, Texas; son, Michael Baker and wife, Kathy of Laguna Beach, Calif.; brother, Kenneth Hampton; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are grandsons and son-in-law.
