Curtis Lynn Cox, 49, of Ardmore, died Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at the Trinity Baptist Church of Ardmore with their Pastors Terry Tolbert and Jimmy May officiating. Services are under the direction of the family. There will be private interment services at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Curtis was born on November 6, 1963, in Lawton, Okla., to Cecil and Anna Cox. Curtis was a longtime resident of Ardmore where he lived with his family. He was a soft spoken man with a heart of genuine compassion and many remember Curtis as “always having a smile on his face.” He was a hard worker and worked as a mechanic/millwright. Curtis loved playing softball, watching football and was a little on the mischievous side when it came to teasing his mother-in-law. His family was his priority and he was his “Mom’s favorite son.” Curtis was a man who loved and honored his wife, adored his children and granddaughter, and most importantly, he was a Godly man who had a faith and love for Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Tucker Cox of Ardmore, Okla.; two sons, Cori Cox and Creed Cox, of Ardmore; two daughters, Meghan Cox and Lauren Tucker of Ardmore; one granddaughter, Khloe; his parents, Cecil and Anna Cox of McKenzie, Tenn.; sisters, Shawna and Jeffrey Laporte of De-Land, Fla., and Sabra and James Fair of Nashville, Tenn.; grandmother, Ruby Cox of Arkadelphia, Ark.; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The visitation will be from 6 until 8 this evening at Griffin-Hillcrest, Ardmore.
