Services for Lena Frances Farve of the Enville Community will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013, in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta, Okla. Officiating will be the Re v. Steve Gardner. Interment in the Enville Cemetery will be under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Mrs. Farve was born July 13, 1914, at Enville, the daughter of James Cotton McCurtain and Mary Fykie Lone McCurtain. She passed away Sunday, February 10, in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta, at the age of 98.
A homemaker, Mrs. Farve had been a resident of the Enville Community her entire life. She and David Farve were married March 13, 1945, and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2005. Mrs. Farve was a full blood Chickasaw and very proud of her heritage and her ability to be fluent in the Chickasaw language. Her father was a member of the Chickasaw Hall of Fame. She enjoyed playing dominoes, telling stories, watching birds, especially cardinals, taking drives to eat and attend junk sales, and to attend the children’s sports activities. Mrs. Farve was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert Floyd Ingram and Thomas Eugene Farve; brother, Robert McCurtain; and sister, Leola Porter.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Aaron and Phyllis Ingram of Enville; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be grandsons, David Ingram, Darrin Ingram, Tommy Farve, James Curtis Ingram, Terry Ingram and Bobby Joe Ingram. Honorary bearers are Floyd Ingram, Robert Ingram Jr., Clint Ingram and Carns Porter.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 this evening at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
