HEALDTON — A Texas woman was critically injured Wednesday in a three-vehicle pileup at the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 and State Highway 76.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports indicate Patricia Gillum, 59, Hickory Creek, Texas, was taken to Mercy Hospital Healdton and later airlifted to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas where she was admitted in critical condition following the crash 2 1/2 miles south of Healdton.
The accident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. when Gillum who was behind the wheel of a northbound 2000 Ford failed to yield at the intersection where a 2004 Chevrolet, driven by Michael Hudson, 24, Ringling, was turning west onto U.S. 70 from S.H. 76. Gillum's car was hit first by a westbound 2006 Nissan, driven the Nathaniel Oquain, 30, Ringling. The Texas woman's car then hit the turning Chevrolet.
Jennifer Oquain, 31, a passenger in the Nissan was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital Ardmore where she was treated and released.
Nathaniel Oquain was not injured in the crash. Two children in the Nissan also escaped the accident uninjured.
Hudson was not hurt as a result of the accident. Joshua D. Hudson, 23, identified sa a passenger in the Chevrolet was also uninjured.
Seatbelts and child restraints were in use in all three vehicles.
Cause of the crash was listed as failure to yield.
