Lillian Lavern Chaffin, 80, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Southbrook Nursing Center in Ardmore. She was born on December 24, 1932, in Baum, Oklahoma, to the late Henry Mayfield Green and Ettie Bearl Perryman Green.
Lillian was raised in Mannsville where she graduated school and later lived in Ardmore where she married Calvin Chaffin on May 7, 1951. She also lived in Paris, Texas, before moving to Gainesville, Texas, where she lived for 15 years. In 1992, she moved back to Ardmore where she lived the rest of her life. Lillian was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and she enjoyed cooking, sewing and crafts. Her greatest joy was being a wife and mother.
She is survived by: husband, Calvin Chaffin, Ardmore, Oklahoma; daughters, Susan Jones and friend, James Price, Gainesville, Texas, and Terri LaQuey and husband, Phil, Sadler, Texas; grandson, Burk Morphew and wife, Misty, Sherman, Texas; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Babb, Sherman, Texas; sisters, Cora Cathern Wilson, Porterville, California, and Virginia JoAnn Shull, Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; and one niece.
Casket bearers: Phil LaQuey, Burk Morphew, James Price, Jake Whatley, Jack Weems and Duane Collins.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the Trinity Baptist Church, Ardmore, Oklahoma. Terry Tolbert will officiate the services. Interment will be at the Lone Cedar Cemetery, Mannsville, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
