Richard E. Riner, age 71, of Tribbey, Okla. passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 in Tribbey.
He was born May 28, 1941 in Ardmore, Okla. to Dick and Grace Bell (Loughridge) Riner.
Richard was born and raised in Ardmore, moving to Oklahoma City for many years before making his home in Tribbey for the last 30 years.
He attended school in Dickson.
Richard married Joyce Scott on Sept. 28, 1983 in Choctaw, Okla.
He was a self-employed truck driver all his life.
Richard was active in the Tribbey Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of the OOIDA (Owner Operator of Independent Drivers Association). Richard loved piddling around his place, fixing cars, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Ricky Riner.
Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce Riner of the home; one daughter, Vicki Townsend of Norman; son, Richard Wayne Riner of Oklahoma City; step-son, Carl Glaser of Tuttle; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Louise Huggins of Ardmore, Okla.; Rowena Grace Peterson of Arburn, Wash., and Susan Gayle Harrison of Marietta, Okla.; three brothers, Barney R. Riner, Kenneth Wayne Riner and David Thurman Riner, all of Ardmore, Okla.; and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., today, Feb. 19 at Cooper Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at Tribbey Community Church with Anna and Zonnie Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Ardmore, Okla. under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
