Oklahoma pitcher Michelle Gascoigne’s performance at last weekend’s Campbell/Cartier Classic in San Diego, Calif., earned her Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday.
It’s the first time in her career that the senior has won the award. OU now has claimed both Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors this season after Keilani Ricketts was recognized last week.
Gascoigne helped the top-ranked softball team stay undefeated at 10-0 as the team went 5-0 last weekend. Appearing in four of the five games, Gascoigne posted a 3-0 record and gave up just one earned run in 18.2 innings for a 0.38 ERA. She also struck out 36 and walked just two as she threw two shutouts of her own and combined on another.
On the season, Gascoigne is 5-0 with a 0.68 earned run average and 59 strikeouts to just four walks in 31.0 innings pitched.
