The Greater Southwest Historical Museum will hold its February Kids Craft activities Saturday from 1-3 p.m. Crafts this month will be focused around the recent Mardi Gras celebration.
The museum's Kids Craft theme for 2013 is "Special Days & Seasons." Cost for the event is just $1 per child and is free to members of the museum.
"We thought that Mardi Gras would make for a fun theme," said museum director Michael Anderson. "The traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold provide for a lot of vibrant craft possibilities, and the kids will also get to design and make colorful masks that they can wear."
Participating children will also get to make beaded necklaces, windsocks and a variety of other crafts.
Kids Craft is open to all elementary age students and children can come anytime during the two hour period. Parents are asked to stay with their child while they are at the museum.
