Come see the online collection of animated, talking picture books that were recently added to the databases at the Chickasaw Regional (Public) Library System.
TumbleBook Cloud is now just a click away for children who wish to download these stories onto their smart phones, ipads or Android devices.
A collection of read-alongs, ebooks, graphic novels, audio books and educational videos can now be accessed with an internet connection using your CRLS library card or by visiting one of our libraries and utilizing the databases.
Children's favorites like Jack and the Beanstalk or Cinderella can be read with automated page turning and narration or independently in the manual mode. Users can also access the books in Spanish or French. Many are bilingual titles which allow the user to read the book in two languages.
"We are excited to introduce the new database to all of our patrons," said Head Reference Librarian Pam Bean. "As a grandmother myself, I cannot wait to use Tumblebooks with my grandson."
Tumblebook Cloud offers enrichment to students reading independently or support to students who require skill building with a variety of exercises for various areas of curriculum. Many of the titles appear on the Accelerated Reader list which most schools now require for outside reading assignments.
In addition, audio books are available including popular titles like War and Peace, Anne of Green Gables and Phantom of the Opera.
TumbleBooks and TumbleBook Cloud Library Collection can be accessed online from your computer or by visiting a library in the Chickasaw Regional (Public) Library System including Ardmore, Atoka County Library, Davis Public Library, Healdton Community Library, Johnston County Library, Love County Library, Parker Memorial Library, and Wilson Public Library.
