DUNCAN — Alma Maude Roberts Adams, 92, of Duncan, passed away on Monday, February 25th at Country Club Care.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tracy L. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Okla., under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Alma was born August 23, 1920, at Oil City, Okla., to Miller T. and Belle (Spencer) Roberts. She married Buford Edward Adams on July 13, 1944, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1987. She was a school teacher for many years before retiring in 1982 and last taught at Horace Mann Elementary in Duncan. She had been a faithful member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church until her health declined and was a member of several teachers associations at both the state and local level.
Alma is survived by cousins, Norris Spencer, Vicky Cline, Ron and Ann Spencer, and Dustin and Casey Spencer, all of Duncan, and Jana Spencer of Marlow, Okla.; a niece, June Prow of Evansville, Ind.; and two nephews, Obie W. Hunt of Carrolton, Ky., and Peyton Adams of Madisonville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Ruby O. Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chisholm Trail Hospice.
