HFV Wilson Community Center will be having its first Color Me Crazy Run March 23 at Regional Park.

All participants will receive an event T-shirt, which will be white with black lettering. Along the race path, five stations will have people throwing colored powder at the runners and walkers.

"By the time you're finished, it's in your hair, on your shirt and all over you," said Alicia Gilmartin, program coordinator.

Instructions on how to make the color permanent on the shirt will be given out at the event.

There will also be a Color After Party at the pavilion, where people can just throw colors in the air.

Participants can sign up either as a team or individual by going to www.funinardmore.org.

Early registration deadline is March 8. Early price is $30 for individuals in the 5K and $20 for the fun run.

Late registration is March 15. Price is $40 for the 5K and $25 for fun run.

Teams that sign up by March 8 will receive their team name on their shirt.

Price for teams of four is $100 and $25 for each additional group member up to 10 members. Teams of 11-25 members is $275. Teams of 26 or more is $300.

"If you are in a team, you save money and get your team name on the shirt," Gilmartin said.

All funds raised through the event will support the center's after-school and summer camp programs.

"It's helping our kids, and anytime we can have extra funds for our kids is great," Gilmartin said.

Race day packet pick up is at 8 a.m. The 1-mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K begins at 9:15 a.m.
