Funeral Services for Linda Rudd are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Ardmore with Reverends Rogers Wood and Charles Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will received friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m.

Linda was born July 10, 1945, in Ardmore to Harold D. and Martha (Zellner) Rudd. She passed this life on February 27, 2013, in Allen, Texas.

Linda is a member of the Ardmore High School Graduating Class of 1963. She continued her education, receiving an Associate of Arts degree from William Woods College, Fulton, Missouri, in 1965 and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1967. She also obtained a Masters of Science degree from East Texas State University, Commerce, Texas. After her college graduation, Linda was employed by Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as a social worker in the child welfare program. She continued her career at the Texas Department of Human Services, Dallas, Texas. At the time of her retirement in 1999, she was serving as an area supervisor for this department. Upon her retirement, she returned to the Ardmore community, becoming a member of the First United Methodist Church and participating in local organizations, including the American Association of University Women, Carter County Democratic Women, Ardmore Cancer Support Group and the area “Relay for Life.” During this time, she also enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and fishing. In 2010, she returned to the Dallas metroplex, residing in Plano, Texas. While living in Plano, Texas, watching professional sports become a favorite activity.

Linda is survived by her two sisters, Donna Pruitt and her husband, H.A. of Ardmore and Leann Turrentine and her husband, Jamie of Parker, Texas. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Hugh Pruitt of Ardmore, Lisa Pruitt of Machanicsburg, Pa., Trey and Libbie Turrentine both of Parker, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie and Trey Turrentine, Blake, Darren and Andy Rudd.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hugh Pruitt, Alan Rudd, Greg Thurman, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Zellner and H.A. Pruitt.
