No. 10 Oklahoma suffered its first defeat of the season, falling to No. 29-ranked Pepperdine 7-2 Saturday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The loss to the Waves (7-4) snapped a 10-game winning streak to open the season for the Sooners (10-1).

Junior infielder Matt Oberste continued his solid start to the season, going 3-for-4 with a triple and his team-leading fourth home run of the year. The two-time reigning Big 12 Conference Player of the Week hit safely in 14 consecutive games dating back to the 2012.

Freshman infielder Kolbey Carpenter tallied a career-high three hits while freshman outfielder Craig Aikin contributed two base knocks.
