Edith Cavell Hennigan, 88 year old Bartlesville resident, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was born October 10, 1924, in Mannsville, Oklahoma, to Benjamin F. and Willie Mae (Webb) Bean. She was educated in the Ardmore School System graduating in 1943. On December 4, 1943, she married Henry William Hennigan in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They made their home in Ardmore until 1946 when they moved to Borger, Texas. In 1954, they moved to Bartlesville where they lived the remainder of their lives. Mrs. Hennigan was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, OSPE Auxiliary, Federated Arts Association past president, St. John Catholic Church and the St. John Altar Society. She was a career homemaker and was a gifted artist. She also enjoyed crafts and textile painting. Mrs. Hennigan was very proud of her heritage and to be an Elder of the Chickasaw Nation. She was a very active and loving person that will be missed by many.
Preceding Mrs. Hennigan in death were her parents, Benjamin and Willie Mae Bean; her loving husband, Henry; twin daughters, Sharon and Karen Hennigan; and a sister-in-law and brotherin-law, Helen R. and Kenneth Hall.
Mrs. Hennigan’s family includes, her children, Camille Blomeyer of Flower Mound, Texas, Timothy M. Hennigan of Bartlesville, Christopher L. Hennigan and wife, Cheryl of Bartlesville, Elizabeth A. Clinton and husband, Darrell of Bartlesville, Tony W. Hennigan and Debbie of Bartlesville, and Vincent P. Hennigan and wife, Janet of Tulsa; a sister-in-law, Genevieve N. Burns and husband, Jay of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Scott David Blomeyer, Shari Beth Talley, Christopher L. Hennigan II, Shannon Dale Hennigan, Andrea Gail McGuire, Matthew Isaac Hennigan and Ryan Anthony Hennigan; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives as well as a host of friends.
Services for Mrs. Hennigan will be a Rosary at 7 this evening at Arnold Moore/Neekamp Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at St. John Catholic Church, in Bartlesville. The family suggests donations to Birthright of Bartlesville.
