Ardmore's girls and boys tennis teams placed second and fourth, respectively, as hosts of the Ardmore Tournament on Tuesday.

As predicted by coach Becky Dickinson, the Tigers' girls were successful in doubles play, feeding off of their performance at Carl Albert last weekend.

Both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams advanced to the finals on Tuesday before losing to teams from Duncan. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Sadie and Savannah Pfau beat Seminole in straight sets and Ada in three before falling to Duncan in the final. Katie Pinson and Maddy Seals beat Seminole and Durant in straight sets to get to the No. 2 doubles championship.

The boys' No. 2 doubles team of Christian Allen and Ben Gonzalez placed third, with two wins against Seminole and Durant.
All teams were competing in their first tournament together as pairs.

"I was very pleased with both the teams," Ardmore tennis coach Becky Dickinson said. "We knew coming into it the competition and they played well from the first match to the last."

In girls, Alex Morales placed third in No. 1 singles, and Jamal Mosley was fourth in No. 1 boys singles. Brentson Castillo placed fifth for Ardmore's boys in No. 2 singles.

Duncan won the girls team title.
