  • The University of Central Oklahoma Wellness Center will host the Sexual Attitude Reassessment seminar for educators, counselors, higher education professionals, clinicians, and healthcare providers at 5 p.m., April 5 and 8 a.m., April 6 in the Center for Transformative Learning on Central’s campus.

The Sexual Attitude Reassessment seminar is an intensive workshop that gives professionals the opportunity to explore their own attitudes, values and beliefs about sexual behavior. Participants in the seminar will learn how to communicate more effectively about sexuality issues and will ultimately learn how to view sexuality more objectively.

“Those who participate will come away from this seminar feeling more comfortable, confident and competent when interacting with students, patients or clients on the various aspects of sexuality,” said Brittney Criswell, Central’s health promotion coordinator.

The seminar will feature Kathleen Baldwin, a nationally known sexuality education consultant and trainer, as the primary presenter. Baldwin has a master’s degree in social work from Indiana University and is a certified sexuality educator with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. She served as the education and training vice president for Planned Parenthood of Indiana for 28 years and currently runs her own coaching practice designed to support individuals and couples in achieving enhanced sexual well-being.

Registration for the workshop costs $100, which includes materials and meals during seminars. Participants must register by 5 p.m., March 27 at www.ucohealthpromotion.com.
