  • Funeral services for Larry D. Ross, 61, are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jessica Seay officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 this evening at the funeral home.
    Larry was born December 3, 1951, in Sulphur, Okla., to Grady and Clarene (Sartain) Ross. He passed this life March 13, 2013, at his residence in Ardmore with his family at his side.
    He and Kaye Felton were married in Sulphur on August 11, 1973. Larry had worked for two years at Gulf Oil Corporation before moving to Ardmore to work for Samedan Oil (now Noble Energy). When he retired, he was the marketing manager for the oil and gas division of Noble Energy. He had such a love for his family and spending time with them. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather and son. His favorite things were playing golf and OU football. His favorite places to be were Dornick Hills golf course and Lake Tahoe where he went several times with family to golf and hike.
    He is survived by his wife, Kaye of the home; one son, Spencer Ross and his wife, Jenny of Edmond; one daughter, Jenna Ross of Norman, Okla.; his mother, Clarene Ross of Sulphur; one brother, Phillip Ross and his wife, Marian of Ardmore; and two grandchildren, Riley, age 2 ½ and Samuel, 9 months old.
    He was preceded in death by his son, Shelby in 1991; and his father, Grady Ross.
    The family would life to thank all the nurses at Mercy Hospital Ardmore, the Cancer Center and at Elmbrook for their wonderful care and support. They would also like to thank the nurses who came in during his last days from Cross Timbers Hospice. He loved you all. Thank you also to Dr. Vicki Canfield in Oklahoma City and nurse, Georgette, you were all wonderful. Thanks also to the many people who cared for us at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Larry was a fighter and never lost hope. He was a strong Christian and had great faith in God. He will be missed.
    Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Burton, Fred Mills, Charlie Chivers, Steve Baldwin, Buddy Parkerson and Darrell Scott. Honorary bearers will be Bob Sperry, Dale Stepp, Bill Dickson, Jerry Williams, Dave Estes and John Nedelka.
    In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either Cross Timbers Hospice or the Leukemia Society.
