Services for Roger K. Graves will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Family visitation will be this evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roger was born Nov. 2, 1945 in Ardmore, Okla. to F.H. Graves and Maurine Overstreet Graves. He passed from this life on March 15, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla. at the age of 67. Roger was a lifelong resident of this area. He graduated from Ardmore High School and then attended Purdue graduate school and studied High Reliabilty Soldering.
Roger and Paula Mitchell were married at Dallas, Texas on Feb. 17, 1980. He was always into the latest and greatest things with technology and had many achievements over the years. He was a Department of Defense High Reliability Soldering Instructor/Examiner, Past President of SOTC School Board, an oil and gas producer, defense contractor, real estate investor, rancher, inventor, member of the OSU Research Lab and Computer Lab and Aide Design Manufacture, owner of several oil and defense corporations, and one of the founding stockholders in American National Bank.
Roger loved to travel, go boating, scuba diving, riding ATV's, hunting, fishing, astronomy, building and fixing all aspects of different items, and was an adventure seeker. His most precious time was spent with his grandchildren and his princess.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents F.H. and Maurine Graves; and his grandson Zachery Wayne Smith. He is survived by his wife Paula of the home; son Paul Smith; daughter Michelle Smith both of Lone Grove, Okla.; sister Karen Koelzer and her husband Ron of Dallas, Texas; grandson Calem Auten.; nieces Debbie West and her husband Robbi and their children Samantha and Presley of McKinney, Texas, Pamela Steinberg and children Brooke, Mariah, and Katelin of Carrollton, Texas. and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Sam Veazy, J.B. Pratt, Deryl Pittman, Jesse Cross, Emile Delsigne, Johnny Sullivan, Don Jackson, and James Chambers. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to craddockfuneralhome.com.
