The East Central University softball team made it a clean sweep of Ouachita Baptist in Great American Conference action with 7-0 and 9-4 wins on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers (22-6, 8-2 GAC) hit. 377 as a team and had five players hit .500 or better for the day.
Junior Gina Mengwasser and sophomore Peyton Watson led the team with .667 averages, while senior Shelby Simmons and sophomores Kayci Snider and Lauren Bancroft all hit .500.
Mengwasser tallied four hits, scored two runs and added three RBIs, while Snider added three runs score, three hits and four RBIs.
Senior Ali Manship earned the win in the circle in the first game of the day, allowing five hits, no runs and striking out three batters. Freshman Lacey Paulk added a win to her season totals in the second game, allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits and striking out three.
ECU will be idle until next weekend when they host Southern Arkansas for a four-game series March 22-23 at Lady Tiger Field. Friday's (March 22) doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. and Saturday's (March 23) is slated for a noon start.
