State Rep. Mike Ritze Wednesday issued the following statement in support of Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak’s letter stating the agency will not participate in a collaborative effort with the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight to enforce the Affordable Care Act.

“Commissioner Doak is right to avoid using Oklahoma tax dollars to help implement a federal mandate that Oklahomans overwhelmingly reject,” said Ritze, R-Broken Arrow. “At the Legislature, we are advancing legislation to nullify the Affordable Care Act and I am pleased with Commissioner Doak for standing side by side with us in resisting the implementation of this federal policy that has the potential to further hurt our health care system and help break the bank at the federal level.”
