DAVIS —Funeral services for Crystal L. Salter will be held 10 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Davis with Brother Thomas Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery at Davis.

Crystal was born April 7, 1922, in Ashland, Okla., to the late Charles & Anna (Griffin) Pierce. She died Friday, March 22, 2013, in Davis, at the age of 90 years 11 months and 15 days. Crystal and D.O. Salter were married on Jan 19, 1946, in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on Sept 23, 2012. Others preceding her in death include two brothers, John Pierce and wife, Wanda and Virgil Pierce; as well as two sisters, Kay Turner and Damarr Evans and husband, Gene.

Crystal was a 1940 graduate of Hickory High School. She spent her life in devotion to God and her family. Crystal loved her family and spent every opportunity she had to be with them. She and D.O. were inseparable. Whether it be taking tickets at a local Kiwanis Club event, a church activity, working in the family owned service station or taking an afternoon drive around Murray County, she was there by his side. Crystal was a very proud mother and grandmother. Her grandsons brought so much joy to her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Davis; a charter member of the United Methodist Women’s Group of Davis, a charter member of Kathryn Grant’s Sunday School Class; as well as, a longtime member of the Anna Circle.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Salter and wife, Patsy of Davis; three grandsons, Kevin Salter of Oklahoma City, Kyle Salter of Davis and Kris Salter and wife, Jenny, of Ada; sister, Ann McKim and husband, Roger of Sulphur; brother, Ronnie Pierce and wife, Nancy of Sulphur; as well as, five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin, Kyle, Kris and Brandon Salter, Mike Lee, and Gene Hester.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the United Methodist Women’s Group of Davis, or a charity of you choice.
