ADA — Ardmore's girls track and field team had four event wins at the Ada track meet Tuesday.
Tee Taylor and Destinee Howell secured two of Ardmore's four first-place finishes on the day. The Tigers also won the 4x200-meter relay (Cara Jackson, Shamise McGee, Kenesha Noland and Christin Russell) and the 4x100 relay (McGee, Taylor, Howell and Russell).
In the high jump, Taylor jumped 4 feet, 2 inches as the lone competitor in the field to win, and Howell was first in the 800 run (2 minutes, 28 seconds). The 4x200 relay team finished in 1:54.56, and the 4x100 team ran a 51.44.
Ardmore was one of seven teams in the meet.
"Our times really weren't any better, but we had a long spring break," Ardmore coach Brenda McHatton said. "We talked about the things it's gonna take to have a state championship team."
The Tigers had place finishers in 14 events, including runner-up finishes in the discus (K'rean Knight, 91-7), shot put (Kaitlin Cronemeyer, 33-7), 400 dash (Zoe Booker, 1:02.41), 200 dash (Marshelle Stubblefield, 27.19) and the 4x800 relay (Booker, Kevi Davis, Howell and Rickkia Manuel).
