Everyone is encouraged to come explore the fun, educational, and exciting things these three events have to offer. You won't be disappointed!

Saturday, April 20, three events for family fun are slated for downtown Ardmore. The Earth 1st Expo, Touch-a-Truck, and Kid’s Day in the Park will offer lots to do for people of all ages.

The 16th annual Earth 1st Expo will be 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the BancFirst Plaza, 310 W. Main Street. This 1-day environmental fair that celebrates Earth Day is sponsored by BancFirst, KICM, OGE Energy Corp, and Ardmore Beautification Council. Recycling, environmental displays, entertainment throughout the day, sales of garden related items, and hands-on crafts will be available. Prospective vendors can visit ABC’s web site www.forabc.org to download exhibitor information. There is no charge for exhibit space. Those with questions may contact the ABC at 580-223-2230 or abc.ardmore@sbcglobal.net. Earth Day was started as a way to give respect to the Earth and look at ways we can preserve our natural resources.

The Goddard Center, 401 First Avenue SW, will host the 3rd Annual Touch-a-Truck on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This family friendly event is free and open to the public. There will be a no horns hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for very young and sensitive children. Kids of all ages are invited to come see, touch, explore, and honk the horns of trucks and vehicles of all sizes! Come meet the people who build, protect, and serve our communities as the respective professionals explain their equipment and discuss their jobs. Sponsored by XTO Energy.

Kid’s Day in the Park is scheduled from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. Ardmore’s Central Park will be filled with games, inflatables & entertainment, all free of charge to families thanks to our generous sponsors. This annual event is the only fund raiser for the Carter County Child Abuse Prevention Fund and offers families an affordable day of fun.  Available for purchase will be concessions, photos, & t-shirts with proceeds going to help victims of child abuse & neglect. There will also be a silent auction. Local organizations will set up booths explaining the services they offer to families and games for children to play. Entertainment will be on stage throughout the event featuring local talent.
