Carolyn S. Hartman, 62, of Marietta was admitted to Plano Regional Hospital in Plano, Texas in critical condition with a head injury following a one-vehicle accident early Monday morning.
The accident took place at 5:05 a.m. on U.S. Highway 77, two miles south of Marietta. Hartman was traveling south in a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser and struck a horse standing in the roadway.
She was pinned for 45 minutes and was freed by the Marietta Fire Department, assisted by the Shady Dale Fire Department using a Hurst Tool.
Hartman was medi-flighted to Plano Regional Hospital. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report indicated Hartman was wearing her seatbelt.
Sunday night, Bryce Keith Archer, 19, of Sulphur, was injured in an ATV accident.
The accident took place at 11:47 p.m. on private property three miles south of Sulphur. He was traveling up a steep hill on a 2012 Yamaha ATV when it rolled over on top of him.
He was transported by private vehicle to Arbuckle Memorial in Sulphur and flown to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk and internal injuries.
Kali N. Vineyard, 16, of Davis was a passenger on the vehicle and was not injured.
