Theatre at Southeastern and the American Association of University Women is excited to present Escape from Kerfuffle Castle on April 11 at 7:30 pm in Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s historic Montgomery Auditorium.
An original children’s theatre piece written by SOSU Chair of Art, Communication and Theatre Dell McLain, Kerfuffle Castle tells the story of an English prep school on the verge of bankruptcy. Now, the students must solve clues in order to find treasure hidden on the campus grounds by the school’s founder before it’s too late!
“The challenge was to create a good mystery that would be great fun for children and introduce them to two of literature’s best-loved characters in a whole new way,” said playwright Dell McLain. “I chose to imagine what would happen if Holmes and Watson were alive today and best friends in school.”
Directed by Riley Coker, Escape from Kerfuffle Castle stars Sheridan Hill as Sheridan Holmes, Cortney Baker as Jane Watson, Tanner Risner as Simon, Landry Miller as Professor Falderal, Rebecca Sparks as Mrs. Merriweather, and Dustin Curry as Mr. Grinchly. The cast also features Kevin Anastasio, Taylor Donaldson, Sarah Hodson, Domanick Hubbard, Megan Mackey, Jonathan O’Brien, Kylie Page, Trent Pratt, Mindamora Rocha and Amanda Scott.
Escape from Kerfuffle Castle plays Montgomery Auditorium April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $2 and may be purchased at the door the night of the show. For more information, visit www.se.edu/theatre or call 580-745-2696.
