  • Billie Miller, 84, died at home in Ardmore, Okla. on April 4, 2013.
    She was born on October 16, 1928 in Bixby, Okla. She is sixth in a family of 12 children.
    Billie married John G. Miller on August 14, 1946 in Tulsa, Okla. then moved to San Diego where she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until they started their family. She made a wonderful home for John and their three children and was completely involved in church work. Both she and dad were part of the original families that built Paradise Hills Baptist Church in San Diego. A company transfer is what brought the family back to Oklahoma and eventually arrived in Ardmore in 1964. The family joined First Baptist Church the first Sunday they were in town. Billie was involved in Adult Sunday School, WMU, GA's and 7th Grade Sunday School Department for over 40 years. Her church, no matter what city she lived in, was a huge part of her life. Billie loved being involved in her children's activities whether it was in church or school. Any time there was a need she gladly volunteered, AHS, Band Boosters, Choir both church and school, YWCA, YMCA and served as Home Room Mother and a member of the school's PTA groups.
    Billie is survived by her three children Matthew Stanton Miller and wife Charlotte of Canon City, Colo., Barbara Miller Davis and husband Dave of Houston, Marty Dale Miller and wife Lori of Ardmore, six grandchildren Matthew Stanton Miller, II of Austin, Benjamin Aaron Fletcher and wife Amy of Willis, Texas, Nissa Marie Simpson and husband Stephen of Rosenberg, Texas, Ashlee Nicole Terry and husband Matt of Oklahoma City, Stephanie Diane Fletcher of Austin, Texas, Luke Evan Miller and wife Katie of Ardmore. Six great-grandchildren, Evie Elixabeth Terry, Owen Brian Fletcher, Piper Lynne Terry, Izabella Ashton Terry, Audrey Quinn Simpson and Erin Jo Fletcher and precious family members Stephen Dale Boynton and wife Sharay, children Stoney and Slade Boynton of Granbury, Texas, four brothers Tommy, Ralph, Jack and Mark Gibson and two sisters Wilma Gibson Hickman and Mary Ruth Gibson Wharton.
    Billie was preceded in death by her husband John G. Miller, her mother and father and three sisters Dorothy Gibson Biggers, Estelle Gibson McConnell, Jane Gibson O'Steen and two brothers Don and R.L. Gibson.
    A private family graveside service will be under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a contribution to CrossTimbers Hospice in memory of Billie June Miller.
