TECUMSEH — Fay (Gregg) McManus, 67, formerly of Asher, Oklahoma, and Jim McManus, 70, both of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Las Vegas.

Fay was born September 24, 1945, to Roy and Thelma (Matthews) Gregg in Asher, Oklahoma.

Jim was born February 12, 1943, to Jim and Betty (Jakobek) McManus in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Fay was raised in Asher and attended Asher Public Schools and was a 1963 graduate of Asher High School.

Jim was raised in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and attended St. Cloud Public Schools. At the age of 17, he proudly joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for many years.

Fay and Jim were married on June 6, 1963, in Asher, Oklahoma.

Following their marriage, Fay and Jim began their family in Oklahoma City, before moving to Greensboro, N.C., later living in Homestead, Fla., Euless and Colleyville, Texas, Lone Grove, Okla., and retiring in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fay was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. After moving to Las Vegas, she worked at the MGM Grand Casino. She enjoyed her collectibles and spending time with family, they were the focal point of her life.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Al Flynn; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Linda Gregg; brother-in-law, Doyle Rawls; and sister-in-law, Debbie Gregg.

Following Jim’s military service he worked for Delta Airlines, later going to work for Winn Dixie in A/C Maintenance. After moving to Las Vegas, he worked at the Rio Casino in maintenance and later worked at the New York New York Casino as head of maintenance.

Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jim was an avid photographer and was known as the “Mayor” to his friends. Along with Fay, he enjoyed spending time with family and they were the focal point of their lives.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary “Micki” Knutson.

Those left to cherish their memories are their three sons and one daughter-in-law, Pat McManus, of Ardmore, Okla., Don and Tracy McManus, of Lone Grove, Okla., and Joe McManus, of Las Vegas, Nev.; Fay’s two sisters and one brother-in-law, Leota Rawls, of St. Louis, Okla., and Sue and Jack Thompson, of Asher, Okla.; and brother, Jimmy Gregg, of Asher, Okla.; Jim’s two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Carol and Ken Gustafson, of St. Augusta, Minn., Keith Knutson, of Becker, Minn., and Sue and Steve Shaw, of Maple Grove, Minn.; their five grandchildren, Summer McManus, Jordan McManus, Justin Johnston, Mackinzie Grissom and Krystal Clayburn; four great-grandchildren, Bransen Kent, Olivea Patino, Jarret Hagen and Taylor Nichole Johnston; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will begin at noon today and continue through service time. The family will gather to receive friends from 5 to 7 this evening at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Johnston, Milo Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
