An Ardmore woman was arrested in connection with a number of area burglaries Wednesday afternoon, after authorities found stolen weapons stashed in her Lake Murray Drive residence.

Capt. Gregg Johnson, Carter County Sheriff's Department, said Angela Bevill, 37, was taken into custody without incident. She was booked into the Carter County Detention Center pending charges. Formal charges of false declaration of ownership were filed in district court Thursday. Bevill also faces an outstanding warrant and a "hold" for Lone Grove police. Bevill made an initial appearance in district court Thursday afternoon. A $15,000 bond was set in the case. A spokesperson for the detention center said late Thursday Bevill remained incarcerated pending the posting of bond.

An unidentified male was also taken into custody at the time of Bevill's arrest. He was not charged and was released.

Johnson said CCSD and Lone Grove police had been conducting a joint investigation into a number of burglaries that had occurred in the area. Thefts include firearms, go-carts and a variety of other items. Investigators obtained the search warrant based on a tip.

CCSD deputies, Lone Grove police and Ardmore police served the warrant.

"Several firearms were inside the house. Three were confirmed stolen," Johnson said.

Johnson said rumors FBI agents were on the scene and involved in the search warrant were false.

Warrants served at two other locations, a second residence on Lake Murray Drive and a house in the 1100 block of B Street NE. Both operations were unsuccessful.
