BOSTON — The 19-year-old Massachusetts college student suspected in the Boston Marathon bombings is hospitalized at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Police say Dzhokhar Tsarnaev exchanged gunfire with officers for an hour Friday evening while holed up in a boat before being captured. Police say he was hospitalized in serious condition with unspecified injuries.
Beth Israel spokesman Jerry Berger confirms that Tsarnaev is there at the hospital. But he says only the FBI can provide further information.
An FBI official did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
Tsarnaev's older brother died at Beth Israel hospital early Friday after suffering what doctors said were multiple gunshot wounds and a possible blast injury.
The brothers are suspects in the bombings Monday that killed three people and wounded more than 180.
