  • Funeral services for Linda Browne, 66 will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Leroy Holman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
    The daughter of the late Victor Eugene Preston and Velma (Baugh) Preston, Linda was born on April 1, 1947 in Ardmore, Okla. and passed away from this world on April 19, 2013 in an Oklahoma City hospital.
    She married Raymond James Welch Jr. (Jimmy) in November of 1961. They were married 16 years until his passing on Sept. 10, 1983. Linda married Christopher Allan Browne in June of 1986. He passed away on May 29, 2004.
    Linda lived most of her life in Dickson, Okla. and graduated from Dickson High School. Linda moved to El Reno in June of 2012 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She was a retired librarian. Linda was devoted to her family and enjoyed Internet shopping, genealogy, fishing and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
    She is survived by her daughter Karla Petty and her husband Troy of Yukon, Okla., two grandchildren, Lauryn Petty of Oklahoma City and Marshall Petty of Yukon and a great grandson on the way, Cameron Caseboldt. Five brothers and sisters, Eugenia Willingham, Betty mason-Holley and husband Tommy, Imogene Shrum and husband Kevin, Ronnie Preston, Gerald Preston and wife Cynde all of Ardmore; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she loved dearly. Linda was also preceded in death by a nephew, Todd Willingham, three great nieces, brother-in-law, Gene Willingham and a sister-in-law, Nancy Preston, and her father and mother in law, Ray and Jean Welch, brother in law, Donnie Welch.
    Pallbearers will be: Victor Copeland, Doug Mason, Dale Mason, Devin Shrum, Jeremiah Preston and Wesley Preston. Honorary bearers will be Chris Hunter, Wesley Patton, Jerry Cook and Joey Shorter.
    The family will receive friends at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 5 – 7 p.m.
