Business Before Hours appears to have moved beyond the one-hit wonder stage.

Tuesday morning, 28 people ventured to the Dollar General Distribution Center to get an up close, personal look at operations. Bob Humphrey, Chamber of Commerce Membership Services Chairman, said he was pleased with the turnout for the second of four Business Before Hour events this year. The first took place at the Southwest Silicone Technology Corporation Jan. 22.

"All of the people attending are very pleased with the information presented about the industries."

Those attending the Dollar General Business Before Hours at the Ardmore Airpark were treated to a continental breakfast and received detailed information about the plant in addition to a tour of the facilities.

"They had information about how many truckloads there are a week and how many there are in a year," Humphrey said. "They serve about 1,200 stores. It is very interesting information. You can't just walk in and get a tour of the facility."

Business Before Hours takes place quarterly on the fourth Tuesday of every month. It is designed to showcase manufacturing and distribution businesses in the community. The next event is scheduled at 7:30 a.m., July 23 at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation.
