Thursday, May 9, Ardmore Beautification Council members and others interested in learning more about gardening will travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma, by chartered bus, to see the Botanic Garden at OSU and the Bustani Plant Farm. Departure will be at 8:00 a.m. from the South side of the Ardmore Public Library parking lot. Cost per person is $75.00 and lunch is included. Arrival time back in Ardmore is approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Botanice Garden at OSU is composed of 100 acres just west of the campus. The Headquarters Garden feature over 1,000 species of herbaceous and woody plants. The Botanic Garden has a wide variety of plants and visitors can enjoy a relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. The Botanic Garden is home to the studio grounds where Oklahoma Gardening is filmed.

Steve Owen, former Oklahoma Gardening host, and his wife Ruth, own Bustani Plant Farm. It is a regional specialty nursery where the unique, rare and hard-to find plants are available along with the best performing plants for Oklahoma. Their display gardens contain a mixture of the top performing plants alongside very unusual plants. They offer both perennials and annuals they have had success growing. Each year they have new plants available and 2013 is no exception.

To register contact Ardmore Beautification Council at abc.ardmore@sbcglobal.net or 580-223-2230. Limited space is available.
